Goztepe sign Demba Ba from Shanghai Shenhua

The Turkish Super Lig side have secured the services of the Senegal international for the remainder of the 2017-18 season

Goztepe have completed the signing of Demba from Shanghai Shenhua.

The former Newcastle United and Chelsea talisman returned to Turkey for his third spell in the top-flight.

The 32-year-old’s addition is expected to boost ‎Tamer Tuna’s team in front of goals as they are currently placed seventh in the Turkish Super Lig table with 31 points from 19 matches – five points adrift a UEFA Europa League spot.

"Finally, the Chinese team signed a deal with Senegalese player Demba Ba, who is wearing the Shanghai Shenhua form, until the end of the season," read a statement on club website.

With the 2018 World Cup around the corner, the former Besiktas player will be aiming to impress Senegal coach Aliou Cisse for a chance to be part of the Teranga Lions’ setup in Russia.
