With few days to the maiden GOtv MAX Cup billed for May 22, football fans are excited over the coming of Atletico Madrid.

The newly crowned Europa league kings will face Nigeria B at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo.

Ahead of Los Rojiblancos’s arrival, fans in the Akwa Ibom state capital have shared their thoughts.

“I am very happy that Atletico Madrid is coming to Uyo. I would definitely be at the stadium to watch the team. I pray and hope that the Super Eagles give a good account of themselves,” said Inyang Bassey.

For Sunday Ndifreke, he thanked MultiChoice for facilitating the visit of a high profile team while revealing his love for Diego Simeone.

“I want to sincerely thank MultiChoice for putting together the GOtv MAX Cup and having it hosted in Uyo,” said Ndifreke.

“I am a fan of Simeone because his team always gives everything. I definitely would be at the stadium.”

In his opinion, Samuel Okon said the GOtv MAX Cup represents a dream fulfilled and he will be watching the encounter with his brother who supports the Wanda Metropolitano’s giants.

Atletico Madrid have had an impressive season silencing Olympique Marseille 3-0 to claim their third Europa League crown. They will finish LaLiga season in second place should they defeat Eibar on the last day.
