Gordinho to Danish side Aalborg BK looks unlikely

The Benoni-born defender was hoping to secure a move away from Amakhosi this month, but at this stage, the proposed move to Denmark appears unlikely

Kaizer Chiefs defender Lorenzo Gordinho looks set to continue plying his trade in the PSL for the foreseeable future with Aalborg BK reportedly unimpressed with him.

The 22-year-old spent a week in Denmark where he was hoping to earn a move to Europe.

However, the club is yet to make a decision on whether or not he did enough to earn himself a professional contract, and reports suggest that Gordinho is not the player they are currently looking for.

The Amakhosi centre-back featured in the side's 2-0 defeat to Hoffenheim in a friendly last week.

He returned to the country a few days later to rejoin his teammates in Potchefstroom where they are preparing for the second half of the season.

Having signed a new three-year deal with the Glamour Boys earlier this week, Gordinho will have less to worry about even if Aalborg decide against offering him a contract.

Gordinho remains an integral member of Steve Komphela's team, and although football manager Bobby Motaung said they won't stand in his way if the Danish outfit wants to sign him, the club would be more than happy to have him for the next few years.

Chiefs will host Free State Stars in their opening match of the year on February 7 at the FNB Stadium.
