Gor Mahia are set to usher in the club’s 50th Anniversary with a year-long celebration starting this week.

K’Ogalo will be turning 50 on February 17 since the merger of Luo Union and Luo Sports Club in 1968. The Kenyan champions have lined up a number of activities to welcome the new era starting this Friday.

Homa Bay Governor, Cyprian Awiti, whose county Gor K’Ogalo came from, will lead a funds drive on Friday. Among the activities lined up by the club include a display of the trophies won by Gor Mahia since its formation and the launch of a new membership drive.

New signings Humphrey Mieno, Charles Momanyi, Ephraim Guikan, will also be welcomed to the larger K’Ogalo family during an official team unveiling on Friday.

Gor Mahia, who beat Leones Vegetarians 2-0 in the Caf Champions League on Saturday, will return to the domestic competition with away fixture in Kericho against Zoo FC on Thursday.

Gor Mahia kicked-off their Kenyan Premier League title defence with a win against Nakumatt FC.
