Gor Mahia duo missing in Rwanda's Cecafa squad

Kenya and Rwanda will take each other in the second match of day one on December 3 at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos

Rwanda will tackle Harambee Stars in the opening match of the 2017 Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup, but without Gor Mahia's duo, Jacques Tuyisenge and Meddie Kagere.

The two were omitted by former Stars coach Antoine Hey who named a 23-man squad that is dominated by APR and reigning champions Rayon Sports FC.

Former Slovakia based, Omborenga Fitina made it in the squad alongside debutant Ally Mbogo with the rest drawn from the pool of players who recently took part in the CHAN qualifiers against Uganda, Ethiopia and Tanzania.

Kenya and Rwanda will take each other in the second match of day one on December 3 at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

Other group 'A' members are Tanzania’s Kilimanjaro Stars, the Zanzibar Heroes and Libya’s Mediterranean Knights.

The regional games will run from December 3-17

Rwanda squad

Goalkeepers: Kimenyi Yves (APR Fc), Nzarora Marcel (Police Fc) and Eric Ndayishimiye (Rayon Sports Fc)

Defenders: Rugwiro Herve (APR Fc), Omborenga Fitina (APR Fc), Imanishimwe Emmanuel, Manzi Thierry (Rayon Sports), Usengimana Faustin (Rayon Sports), Rutanga Eric (Rayon Sports), Kayumba Soter (AS Kigali), Iradukunda Eric (AS Kigali) and Mbogo Ally (SC Kiyovu).

Midfielders: Bizimana Djihad (APR Fc), Hakizimana Muhadjiri (APR Fc), Nshimiyimana Amran (APR Fc), Mukunzi Yannick (Rayon Sports), Manishimwe Djabel (Rayon Sports), Niyonzima Ally (AS Kigali) and Niyonzima Olivier (Rayon Sports).

Forwards: Nshuti Innocent (APR Fc), Sekamana Maxime (APR Fc), Mico Justin (Police Fc), Biramahire Abeddy (Police Fc)
