Rwanda will tackle Harambee Stars in the opening match of the 2017 Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup, but without Gor Mahia's duo, Jacques Tuyisenge and Meddie Kagere.

The two were omitted by former Stars coach Antoine Hey who named a 23-man squad that is dominated by APR and reigning champions Rayon Sports FC.

Former Slovakia based, Omborenga Fitina made it in the squad alongside debutant Ally Mbogo with the rest drawn from the pool of players who recently took part in the CHAN qualifiers against Uganda, Ethiopia and Tanzania.
