Gor Mahia coach: We killed off Everton midfield in first half

Gor Mahia FC put up a brave fight despite suffering a 2-1 defeat against Everton in a friendly played on Thursday.

Wayne Rooney and youngster Kieran Dowell scored for the Toffees in either half, reducing Jacques Tuyisenge strike to a mere consolation. Speaking after the match, new K’Ogalo coach Dylan Kerr expressed his satisfaction with the way his charges played, especially in the first half.

"It was a good match for us; it gave us a perfect gauge of where we are. We played well especially in the first half, we did not give them space especially in the midfield, we were quick to shut them down and that worked. I had to make some changes in the second period because I had to see most of my players play.

"Before our next league game we have to find the right balance, as we aim at making Gor Mahia play the way they should play to help challenge for the title,” Kerr told Goal.

The fifteen times league champions are currently on top of the Kenyan Premier League table with 28 points.
