Chelsea continued with their positive results with a 5-0 thrashing of Stoke City at the Stamford Bridge, with this being their 7th win in 10 games. They moved into 2nd place, taking advantage of Manchester United’s draw with Southampton.
Chelsea produced a great performance against a team that are excellent in the physical sense and rely on set pieces, which needed a pragmatism from the Blues’ players, especially against the crosses that they faced coming into the box.
The game would have not been as easy as it was had it not been for Antonio Rudiger’s headed goal in the third minute, which forced Stoke to come out of their set up and attack Chelsea as they look for the equalizer.
Antonio Rudiger provided a great performance for Chelsea in defence alongside scoring the opener; he excelled in the defensive side and also in the offensive side where he showed his ability to hold the ball under pressure.
Rudiger touched the ball 88 times and had a pass success rate of 90% alongside a defensive performance that allowed him to win the Samsung QLED TV defender of the week.
