The Black Stars newbie and the Lions have been relegated to the third division in Germany following a home defeat on Tuesday

Ghana defender Lumor Agbenyenu's hopes of playing in the German Bundesliga 2 next season were dashed on Tuesday after his side TSV 1860 Munich suffered a 2-0 defeat to Jahn Regensburg at the Allianz Arena in the second leg play-off.

The former top-flight club have been relegated to the third-tier following a 3-1 aggregate loss.

Munich finished the season on 16th position in an 18-club league and had to battle Regensburg, who sat third from the Bundesliga 3 to beat the drop after MSV Duisburg and Holstein Kiel gained an automatic qualification.

Goals from Kolja Pusch and Marc Lais were enough to frustrate the home supporters, who were hopeful of surviving the drop after their team picked a 1-1 stalemate last week.

Lumor, 20, was handed a debut call up by Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah in a 30-man squad released last week ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Ethiopia on June 11 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

He began his career in Ghana with Unistar Academy before joining Portuguese side FC Porto in 2014 and then moving to Germany.
