Dutch youth star of Ghanaian descent Derrick Luckassen will undergo a medical with Eredivisie giants PSV Eindhoven on Monday ahead of a five-year move to the Philips Stadion, Goal can reveal.
The Red and Whites beat off strong competition from Feyenoord, who have long been an admirer of the AZ Alkmaar youngster.
English Premier League club Crystal Palace and French giants Lyon are among the clubs to have also enquired about the possibility of signing the player.
Goal sources say the Amsterdam-born will arrive in Eindhoven on Monday to sign a five-year deal understood to be worth €6 million after a successful medical.
PSV manager Phillip Cocu has made the 22-year-old a top priority as he seeks to bolster his squad ahead of their participation in the Europa League next season.
Luckassen became a top transfer target for clubs this summer following his impressive showing for AZ Alkmaar in the Eredivisie and the Europa League last campaign.
The defender cum midfielder made 35 Eredivisie appearances, all starts, and netted three times as the Cheeseheads finished sixth.
He also made 12 outings, all starts, in the Europa League.
Born in the Netherlands to Ghanaian parents, Luckassen is currently caught up in a tug-of-war between the two nations over his international future.
He has not completely ruled out playing for the Black Stars although he currently plays for the Oranje at youth level.
