Gbolahan Salami and Gael Etock were on target as KuPS defeated JJK 2-1 on Friday in the Finnish Veikkausliiga encounter.
Urho Nissila scored the curtain raiser with just three minutes played when he fired past goalkeeper Teppo Marttinen.
Salami doubled the lead in the 69th minute of the match to mark his ninth goal of the season in 25 appearances for Jani Honkavaara’s side.
Etock netted the consolation in the 90th minute to take his tally to ten in 30 games.
The win takes KuPS to the second spot on the log with 53 points in 32 outings while JJK continue their struggle for survival from relegation as they are at the bottom of the league standings.
The Kuopio outfit will next lock horns with PS Kemi on October 28 while Juha Pasoja’s side will clash with VPS on the same day.
