With seven matches to the end of the league, Goal has presented some players who are going to light up match venues on Sunday.

Kingsley Eduwo (Lobi Stars): The Pride of Benue’s striker and his teammates must come out of the shackle of their heart-wreaking defeat to Enyimba on Wednesday to produce a magnificent performance that will lead to the defeat of Plateau United on Sunday. Eduwo with 10 league goals must complement the effort of team’s leading scorer, Anthony Okpotu on Sunday in a win or burst tie slated for the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi. A goal on Sunday will draw him closer to Okpotu also who is currently on 14 goals.

Mustapha Ibrahim (Wikki Tourists): The Giant Elephants’ skipper must be at his best on Sunday if they are to further add to the woes of their hosts, Rivers United who are condemned to win the game if they are to brighten their chances of escaping relegation at the end of the season. Ibrahim and his teammates in the defence have proved very reliable since the appointment of the current boss, Bala Nikyu. They are close to securing a place in the elite division next season and a point off the Pride of Rivers in Port Harcourt will do their season a huge favour.

Sikiru Olatunbosun (MFM): Olatunbosun has been living under the shadow of Stephen Odey since the beginning of the season but the striker will do his season so much good if he is able to repeat his early season’s form which earned him the star prize for the Goal of the week for his strike against Enugu Rangers in the first round of the season. The game with Katsina United on Sunday should provide the platform for him to add to his seven league goals this season.

Rabiu Ali (Kano Pillars): The Sai Masu Gida midfielder will be up against Remo Stars on Sunday and he is expected to add goals to his duties as the stand-in skipper of the team in the absence of Gambo Mohammed. Ali emerged as the winner of the Goal of the Week in recent league game and he will be eager to put in another shift that should provide another brilliant strike enough for another Goal of the Week nomination at the end of the weekend encounters.

Ajibola Otegbeye (Sunshine Stars): Otegbeye’s form has been on the rise since he joined the Owena Whales at the beginning of the second round. The former ABS player has been on redemption to the Akure side after he forfeited the first round over dispute with the Ilorin side but he has repaid Sunshine Stars’ confidence in him with five goals. He should be motivated to add to his goals tally when they host El Kanemi Warriors on Sunday in another league tie as they try to avoid consecutive home loss.
