Cristiano Ronaldo's lacklustre Euro 2016 campaign has taken a surprising twist after he responded to an interviewer's question by throwing the microphone into a lake!
Asked whether he would be ready for Portugal's upcoming final group game with Hungary, the Real Madrid star replied with the extreme and bizarre reaction while on a team walk through Lyon.
Goalless after two matches at this year's European Championship, Ronaldo was unable to elevate Portugal past Austria last time out, missing a host of chances - including a late penalty - on a night to forget for the national team captain.
It is yet to be confirmed why the 31-year-old reacted with such contempt toward the question. However, Ronaldo has faced disputes with certain members of the Portuguese press over recent years.
Portugal can top the group with a win at Stade des Lumieres on Wednesday should other results go their way, and a frustrated Ronaldo will surely strike further fear into the Hungarian defence.
