Francois Kamano’s lone strike help Bordeaux stun Lille

Francois Kamano scored his fifth league goal of the season as Bordeaux edged Lille 1-0 in Wednesday’s French Ligue 1 encounter.

The Guinea international continued from where he left off in Sunday's league win over Guingamp with another goal in front of the home fans.

Kamano combined with Nigeria winger Samuel Kalu to break the deadlock for the Girondins in the seventh minute.

Despite Lille's dominance after conceding the goal, they could not get an equaliser as they registered their second defeat of the season.

Adama Soumaoro's sending off in 89th minute further dented their chances of grabbing a vital point away from home.

Kalu was in action for entire duration and received a yellow card for his troubles while Kamano was replaced in the 83rd minute.

Cote d'Ivoire's Nicolas Pepe saw out the game for the visitors but did little to effect changes in the outcome of the game.

Bordeaux, placed 10th in the top-flight standings, will aim to make it three wins in as many games when they visit Reims on Saturday.
