Top private investigator Rick Crouch says former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa's murder can now be described as a cold case.
It's been almost three years since Meyiwa tragically died in 2014 in Vosloorus, east of Johannesburg after he was shot during an alleged armed house robbery.
Crouch has since stated that a cold case arises when an investigation yields no results because of a lack of sufficient evidence.
The Rick Crouch & Associates managing director was speaking to The Sunday Independent.
“Police have got nothing in their investigation,” said Crouch, who is a well known certified criminal investigator and a certified computer forensic examiner.
“With murder cases you generally have a 48-hour window to develop your leads," the 56-year-old continued.
"After the first 48 hours every hour that goes by without leads generated or a suspect in custody makes it less likely that the case will be solved.”
