Struggling Serie B side Ternana have announced the surprise signing of former Liverpool and Juventus midfielder Mohamed Sissoko as they look to salvage their season.
The Italian outfit are currently second from bottom in the second tier after 25 games and they will be hoping that Sissoko can help them avoid relegation to the Lega Pro.
Indeed, the capture of the Mali international represents a quite a coup for Ternana, who have won just twice in their last 10 games.
The 32-year-old brings a wealth of experience with him to Stadio Libero Liberati, having won La Liga and the UEFA Cup with Valencia, as well as the FA Cup with Liverpool.
Sissoko left Anfield for Juventus in 2008 and spent three years in Turin before moving on to Paris Saint-Germain.
He spent time in the Chinese Super League with Shanghai Shenhua in 2015 and had a stint in India with Pune City in 2016 prior to signing a deal with Ternana.
