Ushuru coach Ken Kenyatta says he is aiming at developing a team that will be competitive this season

Forrmer Gor Mahia defensive midfielder Erick Ochieng’ was among tens of players who turned out for trials at National Super League side Ushuru.

The veteran midfielder was with Nakumatt last season but failed to command a regular position, prompting coach Anthony Mwangi to drop him.

Ushuru coach Ken Kenyatta says he is aiming at developing a team that will be competitive this season.

“Well, I have seen good players here, but it will take some time to mould them and make them good for us.

“It is an exercise that will go until Saturday. Only eight players will have an opportunity to play for us, but first they have to show what they have,” Kenyatta told Goal.

Ushuru finished third in the National Super League with 79 points, two behind eventual winners Vihiga United.
