Former Cameroon right-back Lauren Etame Mayer has welcomed the appointments of Clarence Seedorf and Patrick Kluivert as head coach and assistant of the Cameroon national team respectively.
The Dutch pair was announced last weekend as replacements to the technical team headed by Belgian Hugo Broos, who was fired in December following failure to qualify for the 2018 Fifa World Cup.
Due to their limited coaching experience, Seedorf and Kluivert’s appointment invited more questions than answers on their capacity to lead the reigning African champions.
More vocal in questioning the development was the Cameroon public, before the Federation of Cameroon Football jumped to defend their decision earlier this week.
Now Lauren has also added his voice, wishing the duo well as they seek to help the Indomitable Lions reclaim the Afcon title, on home soil next year.
“Welcome to the family of the Indomitable Lions, Clarence Seedorf and Patrick Kluivert! Your successes will be shared by the whole of Cameroon. I wish you lots of luck,” Lauren tweeted.

This week the coaches are expected in Cameroon to start preparing for next month's Afcon qualifying trip to the Comoros.
With Cameroon hosting next year’s Afcon finals, they are however involved in Afcon qualifiers to earn some game time.
The responsibility to help the Indomitable Lions defend the continental title has placed more spotlight on Seedorf and Kluivert than any other African team coaches.
