Goal looks back on some of the main talking points from the Yanga vs Township Rollers Clash

Yanga’s hope of booking a place in the CAF Champions League’s group stage for the first time since 1998 was dented when Botswana’s Township Rollers won 2-1 at National Stadium, Dar es Salaam in the first leg tie.

After the match, Roller’s coach Nikola Kavazovic claimed that they deserved more than five goals in that match this is because the visitors were by far the best team on the pitch.

Goal looks back on some of the main talking points from that match.

Hassan Kessy is on fire

His recent form makes him by far the best Yanga player. He has delivered in match after match, appears firmly in the driving seat ahead of Juma Abdul at right-back. It is no surprise to be named Yanga’s man of the match.

Was it right to starts Ramadhani Kabwili?

Yanga have two senior goalkeepers in Youthe Rostad and Beno Kakolanya but in yesterday’s game, George Lwandamina decided to give a chance for the teenager goalkeeper Ramadhan Kabwili.

Kakolanya has not feature in any game this season while Rostande had committed several mistakes in recent fixtures prior to this game but the decision to start with Kabwili was an eye-catching one.

Surely, he did not do enough in the first goal while he had nothing to do with the second goal but his overall performance was not enough to suggest the decisions made by Lwandamina were right.

Yanga need Obrey Chirwa in big game

Obrey Chirwa was sidelined because of injury in the past three matches but it was this match were by Yanga needed him the most.

He is Yanga’s top scorer, his composure in front of goal proved that he is the man to lead the striking line.

However he is entering in his final six months of his contract and rumors suggest that he is heading to Simba SC. Yanga need to act fast in order to sign keep him for their future.

Yanga’s substitutions was the turning point

Many people ask why Lwandamina decided to replace Ibrahim Ajib in 68th minute.  For sure it was an incorrect decision made by the Zambian coach.

Ajib was lively on the left wing with some dazzling runs. His absence in that left flank made the visitors frequently use that side to torment Gadiel Michael.

Lemponye Tshireletso a player to watch

Goal tipped this man as a player to watch before the game. His movements on the pitch is incredible and his finishing is amazing, look at the opening goal you will see the kind of man whom am talking about.

He is their top scorer, and he will be even more dangerous when they will be at home so Yanga must be careful again about this man.
