Emmanuel Osahon’s girls were in ruthless form as they annihilated their opponents to reach the tournament’s final in grand style

Rasheedat Ajibade scored three times and Chidinma Okeke netted a brace as FC Robo thumped Royaltoms 7-0 in the semi-final of the Lagos Women FA Cup on Friday played at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.

A pair of clinical finishes from Folajobi Olabiyi and Ayowunmi Omosuyi completed the rout as Emmanuel Osahon’s team went four goals up after 18 minutes.

FC Robo dominated proceedings early on, with Ajibade in particular looking dangerous. Her blistering speed and hardwork paid off after four minutes – making a mincemeat of Royalthoms’ defence before completing her treble after 18 minutes.

Things went from bad to worse for Royal after the break as Ayowunmi netted her side’s fifth goal in the 69th minute. The youngster embarked on a clever dribble after picking up the ball just inside the visitors' half and eventually unleashed a powerful low shot that proved to be too much for the goalkeeper.

Okeke then poured even more salt in their wounds in the 75th minute with a sublime strike. FC Robo never let up and their hunger for goals resulted in a seventh soon after.

Player of the match, Ajibade is pleased with the victory and wants to achieve more with the Nigeria women topflight side.

With this victory, FC Robo will face Young Talent Football Academy in the final billed for the Agege Stadium on Saturday morning. Young Talent strolled past Jagunmolu Queens in the first semi-final.
