Kum Yu-song, who bagged an astounding five goals in North Korean outfit 4.25 SC's 6-0 rout of Erchim FC in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup last week, has been voted as the player of the week by fans.
The 23-year-old striker beat the likes of Al Rayyan's Rodrigo Tabata and FC Seoul's Yun Il-Lok who had enjoyed splendid outings in the AFC Champions League on matchday three.
Toyota Player of the Week: Yun Il-Lok
The 36-year-old Tabata scored two goals and notched an assist in Al Rayyan's 3-1 win over Persepolis while Yun Il-Lok's two-goal haul came in a losing cause against Western Sydney Wanderers.
Despite Tabata's and Il-Lok's performances coming in the continent's premier club competition, the sheer amount of goals scored by Yu-song saw him edge them out in the voting, but only just.
ACL Player of Matchday 3: Rodrigo Tabata
While Yu-song received 38% of the total votes cast, Tabata and Il-Lok enjoyed the backing of 31% fans each.
It means the prolific North Korean centre-forward is our Fans' Player of the Week for matchday three.
