The Akwa United forward scored a stunner to secure the team's first maximum point in the competition, and a chance to battle for the diadem with MFM

Sunday Faleye was the hero for CHAN Eagles as they defeated Enyimba 1-0 in Friday's LMC Super 6 encounter at the Sani Abacha Stadium to proceed to the final of the competition.

Having been held to a draw against Plateau United, a new-look Super Eagles B side started on the front foot - similar to the kind of momentum it took off with against the Peace Boys on Wednesday.

After a barren first half, they would, however, find the breakthrough courtesy Faleye - who had been a thorn in the flesh of the People's Elephant's backline - minutes after the interval.

The former Shooting Stars man volleyed past Fatau Dauda from an Ifeanyi Nweke assist to secure, for Salisu Yusuf's men, their first victory in the competition.

Despite the Aba giants' late attacking forays to salvage something from the encounter, the CHAN Eagles stood firm as they moved to the summit of their group, thus, setting up a final meeting with MFM.

The Super Eagles are using the invitational tourney as preparation for their African Nations Championship assignment that holds next year in Morocco. And the improvement in Friday's encounter - with almost an entirely new setup - would give the coaching crew something to cheer about.
