The Harmony Warriors’ shot-stopper is optimistic that he and his teammates have what it takes to win the pre-season tournament

Kwara United goalkeeper, Chidiebere Eze has tipped his club to emerge as the overall champions of the 2016-17 Nigeria National League during the Super Four billed for Lagos.

Eze, who is not strange to the second division Super Four having won it with FC IfeanyiUbah three seasons ago in Ilorin has assured the Harmony Warriors’ fans they will not disappoint when the tournament commences from January 7 to 9 at the Agege Stadium.

“We are heading to Lagos to become the overall winners of the National League and I don’t think Yobe Desert Stars, Heartland and Go Round can stand in our way. We have trained very hard for this and for our campaign in the Nigeria Professional Football League which starts from January 14,” Eze told Goal.

“We have been in Oba near Onitsha perfecting our tactics and by the time we depart for Lagos on Friday, we will be going with high hope knowing that we have the players and the right blend of coaches to get the job done.

“I am not new to this type of tournament having represented FC Ifeanyiubah some years back when we lifted the Super Four in Ilorin and went ahead to surprise everyone in the NPFL the following season.”

The former Anambra Warriors’ goaltender is, however, relishing his return to the top-flight after spending two seasons in the lower league with Kwara United, and he has vowed to make it count this term.

“I have tasted what it was like playing in the premier league with FC IfeanyiUbah and having staged a dramatic return I want to prove to all that I am still the same goalkeeper that hit the league by storm,” he concluded.
