EXTRA TIME: Watch Salah on laughable Liverpool's first bid and how Mourinho turned his head at Chelsea

Watch the Egyptian winger talk about how Liverpool's initial failed bid for him was so low that his previous club, Basel laughed it off

Chelsea initially beat Liverpool to the signing of Mohamed Salah in the year 2014, when Jose Mourinho convinced the Egyptian to join the London club instead.

Salah explains in the bottom video that he gave Liverpool enough chances but eventually was waiting too long, while the Anfield club failed to significantly increase their bid.

The video is both funny and damning of Liverpool's slow negotiatiion tactics. However, this time it's a case of 'better late than never' as the Reds are on the verge of signing Salah from Roma.

You can also view a photograph of Salah arriving at Anfield for his medical on Thursday.

Then to get into the mood, there's a great goal that the Egyptian scored against Juventus to enjoy. Liverpool now boast the two more expensive African signings in history, Sadio Mane and Salah.
