The Porcupine Warriors' team bus accident in Nkawkaw sent shockwaves across the country

It was that  Wednesday  evening Ghanaians would hope to forget soon after Asante Kotoko's team bus rammed into a stationary truck, killing one technical team member after their 1-0 defeat to Inter Allies in the Ghana Premier League in Accra.

Kotoko’s first defeat in eight league games was compounded by the death of equipment officer Thomas Obeng Asare who did not survive the Nkawkaw crash.

However, head coach Steve Polack and his assistant Godwin Ablordey, who suffered injuries are yet to be discharged from Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.

Captain Amos Frimpong, Baba Mahama, Sadick Adams, Augustine Sefa and Evans Quao have gone home.

Ghana president Akuffo-Addo led the condolences, with Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan and Andre Ayew as well as many others adding their voices.
