Ghana midfielder Michael Essien was at Old Trafford to watch Manchester United play against CSKA Moscow in the last Group A game of the Uefa Champions League on Tuesday.

The 35-year-old, who currently plies his trade with Persib Bandung in Indonesia, opted to support Jose Mourinho's side even while his former club Chelsea played against Atletico Madrid at the same time at Stamford Bridge.

Dzagoev gave the visitors the lead late in the first-half but two quick goals from Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford after the break overturned the scoreline, as Manchester sealed the top spot and sent CSKA Moscow into the Europa League.

After the game, Essien caught up with his 'daddy' Mourinho and Manchester's legend Sir Bobby Charlton for deliberations, snapping pictures with them.

Essien first worked with Mourinho at Chelsea in 2005, after the Portuguese manager signed him for a club record fee from Lyon. They later teamed up at Real Madrid.
