Goal can exclusively reveal that Cape Town City will announce Benni McCarthy as their new coach within the next few days

Goal can reveal that former Bafana Bafana international Benni McCarthy will be taking over from previous coach, Eric Tinkler who left for SuperSport United last week.

With McCarthy, Muhsin Ertugral and Ruud Krol linked to the position, Goal has it on good authority that McCarthy has already signed for City.

“Benni has signed with the club, he did so last week already and he will be announced soon,” a Goal source confirmed.

“It is a long-term deal that was signed last week already.”

The 39-year-old will be the head coach of his first club since completing his coaching badges last year.

McCarthy's previous coaching experience was when he was the assistant at Belgian outfit Sint-Truiden.
