Ex-AFC Leopards star glad to be back

Former AFC Leopards and Ushuru FC striker Charles Okwemba says he is happy to make a return to competitive football.

The former international forward fell out with his former coach Ken Kenyatta while at Ushuru, and decided to terminate his contract with the club before joining Sofapaka in January. The creative forward says he is keen to make use of the remaining years and wants to leave a mark for the upcoming players.

"Honestly I am happy to be back in competitive football, it has been a while since I quit my former side. The main thing is to ensure I give my best to the side and put my experience and hard work in action.

"Well, I understand time is running out for me but the several years ahead will be very important to me. I want to utilize them and ensure I leave a mark for young players who will take over, " he told Goal.

Unfortunately, Sofapaka have been relegated to the second tier after failing to comply with the Caf Club Licensing requirements.
