The Flying Antelopes’ striker has faulted the team’s excessive, but necessary travels for their dismal showing in Makurdi

Enugu Rangers’ Daniel Etor blames fatigue for their uninspiring performance in Sunday's loss to Lobi Stars at the Aper Aku Stadium.

The former Enyimba forward reduced the deficit for the topflight champions after goals by Ezekiel Mba, Kingsley Eduwo and Anthony Okpotu had given the Pride of Benue a three-goal lead. The tie ended in a 3-1 loss for the Flying Antelopes.

“I will say it was fatigue that set in for us. We played a game (against FC IfeanyiUbah) on Wednesday and we travelled for a Sunday league game on Saturday. We didn’t rest well before the match with Lobi and I guess that gave them an advantage against us,” Etor told Goal.

"It is football and we now have to go back home and think what we must do to ensure we beat our next league opponents.

“The defeat was not expected by us at all judging by the way we had played our last five games before the game with Lobi Stars. We were expecting another point in Makurdi but the home team were better on the day.”
