Enyimba striker Stephen Chukwude is gutted to miss Sunday's tie against Rivers United in Port Harcourt.
In midweek's clash against Nasarawa United, Chukwude entered the fray in the second half but got his shoulder injured. And he has confirmed he will not be available to face Stanley Eguma's wards.
“I really would like to face Rivers United but sadly injury won’t allow that to be possible for now but I am tipping my team to overrun them in Port Harcourt. It was a shoulder injury but not that serious. I will miss the game on Sunday as a precaution,” Chukwude told Goal.
“We were all happy to get our first win of the season and we are hoping for another favourable result in Port Harcourt so that our fans will know that we are truly back to our best.
“The game against Nasarawa United was a tough one but we had to do hold on to ensure that we beat them and secure our first win of the season. The victory has boosted our confidence and we are going to Port Harcourt with that renewed zeal that we can get a result,” he concluded.
Enyimba have five points from four games in the current campaign and they visit Rivers United who are yet to drop a point at the Yakub Gowon Stadium.
