The People’s Elephant players and officials left for Lagos from Aba on Thursday ahead of their trip to the east African country with the exception of Sunday Adetunji, Mfon Udoh and Ikechukwu Ezenwa who were already waiting for them in Lagos.
The three players were with the Super Eagles that played against the Lone Star of Liberia in an international friendly match on Tuesday in Monrovia and returned to Lagos on Wednesday to await the presence of their other Enyimba teammates ahead of the weekend cracker in Kigali.
Udoh who is the People’s Elephant’s skipper said he and his teammates are in high spirits and are hopeful of a good performance in Kigali on Sunday.
“We are waiting for our teammates who are on their way to Lagos from Aba. We are leaving for Rwanda on Friday and we are all set for the cracker,” Udoh told Goal.
“We are going with optimism that we can get a respectable result in Kigali and finish up the job at home. We are not going to take any chances knowing that a berth into the semi-final is a possibility if we are able to beat them.”
