The Flying Antelopes’ midfielder has downplayed the recent happenings in the camp of the team ahead of their visit to Ilorin

Following the controversy surrounding Imama Amapakabo, Chiamaka Madu allays fear of division and uneasy calm in the camp of the Enugu Rangers ahead of their Nigerian topflight tie against ABS.

The Flying Antelopes defeated MFM 2-0 in their last league encounter in midweek but the detention of their former coach, Amapakabo over the non-release of the club’s properties in his care has dominated airwaves since Thursday and has created a gulf in the preparations of the team for the tie with the Saraki Boys.

Madu who scored his second goal of the season and his team’s opener in their 2-0 crushing of the Olukoya Boys insists that they are poised to add to the misery of their hosts on Sunday.

“We are not happy about the issues regarding our former coach, Imama but I don’t agree if anything that it has disturbed our preparations for the game with ABS. we know how crucial it is to our season and we are approaching it with utmost confidence that we are going to surprise ABS in Ilorin,” Madu told Goal.

“It has been a very difficult week for us but we are not going to be distracted from the objective we have set for ourselves ahead of the weekend game. It is our resolve to ensure that we do not have anything to do with the relegation zone and it is our conviction that we can beat ABS in Ilorin with good officiating.”
