Istanbul Basaksehir’s Togo striker Emmanuel Adebayor has scored his first goal for the Turkish Super Lig outfit, 59 days after joining as a free agent.

The Togo captain was among the goals in Basaksehir’s 3-0 win over Konyspor at the Buyuksehir Stadium in Konya on Sunday. Yalcin Ayhan opened the scoring in the 15th minute before Adebayor powered home Edin Visca’s cross from the right with a well-timed header in the 55th minute to double the lead for Abdullah Avci’s men and open his Super Lig account on his full debut.

Cengiz Under added the 3rd in consolation time as Baseksehir remain second to keep their European football ambitions alive.

This was the Adebayor’s first goal since last scoring 405 days ago in his former club Crystal Palace’s 2-1 loss to Watford in the Premier League over a year ago.
