The Egyptian club has opined that they want to keep hold of their coach despite him being subject to offers from elsewhere

Al-Ahly President Mahmoud Taher announced that the club aim to keep hold of current head coach Hossam El-Badri, claiming he’s the man for the current period.

El Badri had announced earlier that he received an offer from the UAE as well as a North African club in an interview after his club’s match against Zambian club Zanaco.

Taher said to Al-Ahly’s official website: “We want to keep hold of El Badri, he hasn’t spoken to me of any financial issues at all or about an increase in his salary.”

“We don’t have these attitudes at Al-Ahly, El-Badri is one of the club’s sons and that’s not something we tolerate here.”

Taher added: “Everyone supports El-Badri and his staff completely, we want to win the title and regain our African title. There are no issues between us.”

About the offers made for El-Badri, Taher opined, “It’s normal that Al-Ahly’s coach gets offers to coach elsewhere but El-Badri refused all these offers. He’s proud of his place at Al-Ahly and wants to lead the club to more titles.”

Al-Ahly suffered a goalless draw in their first game of the CAF Champions League against Zambian side Zanaco at the Borg El-Arab stadium in Alexandria. They now gear up to face Al Sharkia on matchday 29 in the Egyptian Premier League
