In the midweek against Enyimba, the Makurdi side were only five minutes away from securing a morale boosting away win against the People’s Elephant but they ended on the losing side after two late goals from Mfon Udoh and Ikechukwu Ibenegbu.
The strikers says they have battled through their midweek disappointment with prayers and fasting ahead of the tie with the Peace Boys.
“It was a disappointing loss for us but we are firmly back on our feet knowing that feeling sorry for ourselves won’t help with another home tie against Plateau United. They will come with all they have but we will tell them know that we have a surprise package for them. We must show them that we have prepared very well for the tie and that we won’t allow the disappointment of our last match to stand in our ways of further progression on the league table,” Eduwo told Goal.
“We have prayed and fasted on Saturday morning just like we have always done before our every home game and we are sure that having battled it out spiritually with prayers and fasting, we will get the job done on the pitch on Sunday.”
Eduwo has scored 10 goals this season to help Lobi Stars stay sixth on the league table with 45 points from 30 games and are only two points adrift of the top three.
