The Ghana FA technical director has hailed the Englishman, insisting that some people will disagree with him

Former Asante Kotoko coach Didi Dramani has hailed Steve Polack for his honest comments after Kotoko's  2-1 triumph over Nea Salamina last week.

The Porcupine Warriors defeated the second-tier side with a late penalty after Seth Opare was brought down in the box late in the game. However, Polack admitted that the penalty awarded his side was a dubious one although they wanted to progress to the next round of the competition.

"He doubted it [the penalty] and it is good he spoke the truth. He will be a victim of what he is benefiting today. So it's good he speaks about it now," Didi told Ghanasoccernet.com.

"Someone may not be happy but he said it as it is [as a honest man]. Sometimes you (coach) win a game but you congratulate your opponent because you know they had hard luck. I don't begrudge Polack. His comment tells how our football needs to get better and I commend him for that," he added.

Dramani also advised the referees to improve in their performance to meet the expectations of Ghanaians.

"Referees are major stakeholders of the game and a single decision they take can change all the hard work of one team or the other.

"The clubs are now doing well so if we still have problems with our game, I can now agree that the referees are the problems. I believe they are listening, reading and seeing what is happening and so they need to lift their game," he added.

Kotoko will play Wa All Stars in the semi-finals of the Ghana FA Cup while their rivals Hearts of Oak will face Medeama.
