According to coach Pedro Caixinha, the Ghanaian holds the key to the sustenance of his wavering time with the Gers

Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha says it may not all be over for striker Joe Dodoo at Ibrox Stadium.

The Ghanaian's future has been thrown in doubt after struggling for form and fitness at the Scottish outfit, having started only five league games last season.

And so bad has the 22-year-old's stock plummeted that he has recently been forced to train with Rangers' youth side.

“Joe is still training with the group,” Caixinha told the Daily Record.

“He still has a chance here but it’s more up to him than me.

“I don’t have a final decision yet because the market is still open.

"I don’t want to be overloaded with players who might not be an option for us.”

Dodoo joined Rangers from Leicester City last summer.

The Kumasi-born made 20 topflight appearances in all last campaign, netting three goals.

He is, however, yet to make the Gers' matchday squad this season after week three of the Premier League.
