Dede out of Swansea FA Cup clash

Swansea City's recent acquisition Andre Ayew will sit out Saturday's FA Cup match against Sheffield Wednesday.

The Ghana international, together with fellow new signing Andy King, will play no part in the fifth round fixture as a result of being cap-tied.

A win for the Jack Army would see the club reach the quarter-finals of the cup competition for the first time since 1964.

Ayew and King already have appearances in the FA Cup for their former sides this season, effectively making them ineligible to play for another outfit in the knockout tournament this same campaign.

Swansea re-signed the Black Star from West Ham United last month following the 28-year-old's struggle for game time at London Stadium.

He completed a club record move reportedly worth £18 million on Transfer Deadline Day, signing a three-and-a-half-year deal.

During his first spell in 2015-16, the attacker netted 12 goals in 34 league outings, finishing the season as the club's top scorer.

He then joined West Ham after just one season at Liberty Stadium.
