The Portuguese superstar found the back of the net in the first half of Los Blancos' match against Sevilla to reach the milestone

Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 400th goal for Real Madrid to become the first player to reach that landmark for the club after netting against Sevilla.

Mou turning Man Utd into Macclesfield

A hat-trick during a stellar performance in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Atletico Madrid early this month saw the 32-year-old edge closer to the achievement.

Madrid claim Ronaldo had already registered 400 Blancos goals, the club having attributed a 2010 free-kick against Real Sociedad, deflected into the net off Pepe's back, to the Portuguese.

Though his highlight reel is filled with dozens, perhaps hundreds, of glorious goals, the 400th came somewhat simply.

After James Rodriguez's left-footed effort was deflected away by Sevilla goalkeeper Sergio Rico, the rebound fell right to Ronaldo, who finished with ease and went off to celebrate his fourth century of goals for Los Blancos with his team-mates.

The goal also takes the Portuguese superstar to 365 goals in European league play, tying him for second all-time with German legend Gerd Muller.

Ronaldo joined Real Madrid in 2009 after playing for Manchester United and his childhood club Sporting.

Tevez a colossal waste of money

The most expensive player in the world when he moved to the Santiago Bernabeu from United for approximately £80million, Ronaldo is both Madrid's and the Champions League's all-time leading scorer. He trails only Lionel Messi of Barcelona in the all-time scoring charts in La Liga.

He has won La Liga once, the Champions League twice and the Copa del Rey twice at Madrid, while he finally tasted international success with Portugal at Euro 2016.
