The Phobians midfielder was impressive in the month of April and feels he should win the best player award

Hearts of Oak star Winful Cobbinah believes he deserves to win the Ghana Premier League Best Player Award for the month of April, ahead of Wafa prodigy Emmanuel Lomotey and Berekum Chelsea striker Stephen Sarfo.

Cobbinah, after recovering from a knee injury that ruled him out of the start of the season, enjoyed an excellent run in April by scoring one goal, picking one Man of the Match accolade and providing five assists as the Phobians amassed valuable points to move up to third on the log.

“I’ve seen all the other nominees and I can confidently say I merit this award. This is because when you take my performance into consideration against my competitors, there is no way this award should be given to any of them,'' Cobbinah told Happy FM.

“To have scored one goal in five matches with five assists is not easy to come achieve. I pray I become the first winner of the accolade since this season as it has gotten a new sponsor," he added.

Aside Cobbinah, Sarfo also scored four goals as well as picking three man of the match awards with Chelsea, while Lomotey netted four times for Wafa in the month under review and provided two assists to win two man of the match awards.

The winner will be announced this week by the Premier of Board.
