The Flying Antelopes’ top official has hinted that the players of the team will be all smiles if they defeat the Anambra Warriors

Enugu Rangers’ general manager, Christian Chukwu charges his side to play to beat FC Ifeanyiubah on Wednesday and get a gift.

The flying Antelopes made a bad start to their title defense after they were beaten 1-2 at home by Abia Warriors and their results have not been impressive before their recent improved performances where they have now gone four games unbeaten.

Chukwu handed a sum of N300,000 to the players of the Enugu side shortly after their goalless draw with Ikon Allah Boys as promised before the tie and he has pledged another surprise should they defeat the Anambra Warriors.

“I gave the players the sum of N300,000 as soon as we got to the hotel because of their draw in Lokoja because I had promised to do so if they get either a draw or win against Niger Tornadoes. We have another equally tough encounter against FC Ifeanyiubah on Wednesday and I have charged them to go all out and make the state proud by beating them. They are going to get something significant again,” Chukwu told Goal.

“We are at the wrong end of the league table and we must do everything to ensure that we leave the spot as soon as possible to respectable spot. We have improved in recent games and I have no doubt in my mind that we are going to surprise FC Ifeanyiubah on Wednesday.

“They were fortunate to beat us in the first leg but we are ready to have our own pound of flesh this term. It won’t be easy but I trust the players and the coaches to do a good job. Rangers must ensure they end the season strongly to show that as defending champions we do not want to be buried in the war before the battle started.”

Rangers are 13th in the league log with 32 points from 25 games.
