Christian Bassogog’s double hands Henan Jianye crucial win

A brace from the Cameroon talisman helped the Red Devils get a spirited away victory in the Chinese elite division

Christian Bassogog was the hero for Henan Jianye as they defeated Yanbian 2-1 in a Chinese Super League game on Saturday.

His efforts in the sixth and 48th minutes gave Guo Guangqi’s men something to cheer about as they hope to finish the season well after missing out of the AFC Champions League.

Bubacarr Trawally’s 66th minute effort proved as a mere consolation as Yanbian got demoted to the lower rank.

Bassogog now boasts of 10 goals from 23 games in the Chinese topflight.  He would be hoping to increase his tally when his side welcome Shanghai SIPG FC in their next outing on October 29.

Henan Jianye are 11th on the log with 30 points from 28 games.
