Talks between Chelsea and Eden Hazard over a new contract have stalled as the Belgian star holds out for an offer from Real Madrid, according to The Times .

The Blues reportedly are ready to make Hazard the highest paid player in club history, with a salary worth £300,000 per week.

But Hazard is reluctant to extend a contract that still has two and a half years remaining because it would effectively end his hopes of joining Los Blancos.


COURTOIS TO LEAVE FOR FREE

Thibaut Courtois will be allowed to leave Chelsea on a free transfer in 2019 as the Belgian continues to put off talks for a contract extension in London, The Sun reports.

Should The Blues fail to come to an agreement with the goalkeeper - who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid - they will force him to see out his current deal rather than cash in before his contract runs out.

He wants €230,000 per week - taking him in line with the Premier League's best paid goalkeepers, like Manchester United's David de Gea.
