CHAN star Ayoub El Kaabi headlines Morocco’s squad for March friendlies

Following his impressive goalscoring form in last month’s championship, the 24-year-old has been invited for the Atlas Lions’ tune-up games

Herve Renard has included Renaissance Sportive de Berkane forward Ayoub El Kaabi in his 28-man list invited for Morocco’s friendly games later this month.

The Atlas Lions will play against Serbia in Turin and Uzbekistan in Casablanca on March 23 and 27 respectively as they begin their preparations for this summer’s World Cup in Russia.

And El Kaabi who finished as top scorer at the 2018 African Nations Championship with nine goals, has earned himself a spot in Renard’s squad.

Ittihad Tanger goalkeeper Ahmad Reda Tagnaouti and Raja Casablanca defender Badr Banoun complete the trio of home-based players called up.

Key players invited include Khalid Boutaib, Soufiane Boufal, Hakim Ziyech and Nordin Amrabat.
