The Walya Antelopes of Ethiopia suffered a humiliating 4-1 defeat in the hands of Burundi in the on-going Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup on Thursday.

Ethiopia had defeated South Sudan 3-0 in their opening match and needed victory to surge forward, while Burundi had held defending champions Uganda Cranes to a barren draw.

After both sides had wasted clear goal scoring opportunities, it was Pierre Kwizera, who hit the back of the net after half an hour mark in favour of The Swallows, converting from the set piece just outside the eighteen yard area.

However, it was 1-1 with a few minutes to the break as the Walya Antelopes equalized through a penalty kick, scored by Dukele Hetesa.

In the 58th minute, substitute Urasenga Cedric capitalized on the goalkeeping error to make it 2-1. Burundi continued to give their best, pinning their opponents in their own area, and they were rewarded with two more goals courtesy of Mavugo Laudit, from a penalty spot, and Nahimana Shasir.

The result pushes Burundi top of Group B with four points while Ethiopia are lying second with a point less.
