Cape Town City have been very busy bolstering their squad as they look ahead to the new season.
The Citizens have already captured the signings of South African star Ayanda Patosi and Mozambican international Jeitoso and are linked with several high-profile players in South Africa and abroad.
Nonetheless, the latest player to have attracted interest from City is Chippa United midfielder Buyani Sali.
Despite the Port Elizabeth’s-based outfit’s poor campaign, the 27-year-old has stood out as a shining light in his 22 starts for coach Dan Malesela’s team.
However, Sali missed the final few matches of the season after picking up an injury against Kaizer Chiefs in April.
It is believed that that City’s interest in the player is still in its initial stages and with the central midfielder having only recently signed a three-year contract extension, City’s boss John Comitis may be forced to splash the cash for Sali’s services.
Reports emanating out of the club suggest that the Chilli Boys are only willing to sell and will not entertain anything less.
