The Alexandra-born forward has terrorized PSL club's defences this season and he is leading his side’s charge for the title

Cape Town City captain Lebogang Manyama says he is more about teamwork than individual pursuit as he is in the running for the PSL Golden Boot.

The in-form forward is two goals behind Orlando Pirates striker Tendai Ndoro, the leading goalscorer with 11 goals.

“I hear a lot of people talk about,” Manyama told

“But I often don’t think about myself when I play because when a teammate is in a better scoring position I would rather give the ball to him,” Manyama said.

He was the recipient for successive Premiership’s Player of the Month awards this season which he collected on Monday.

The 26-year-old forward has also captained his charges to the Telkom Knockout title in December, their first since formation at the start of the season.

City recently tied Manyama down to a new contract along with his teammate Aubrey Ngoma which will expire three years from now.

Despite reports of interest from Europe and Kaizer Chiefs, Manyama is happy to be with the Citizens as he is playing for a club with ambitions.

“It shows that I am happy at the club. I am playing for a club with ambitions,” Manyama concluded.
