The 22-year-old star has reportedly attracted interest from north London duo Arsenal and Tottenham, but on the strength of his latest comments Manchester looks like his preferred destination.

Bruma’s contract with Gala expires at the end of next season so the Turkish side will not be in a strong bargaining position come the summer if not fresh deal is signed.

And judging by his comments in the Portuguese media, Old Trafford and a link-up with compatriot Jose Mourinho is his number one option.

“Any player would love to work with him. It would be an honour for me, but, while it doesn’t happen, I’m focused here,” Bruma told O Jogo.

“I’ve already played in Spain. I’d perfectly fit in English football.”

The speedy Bruma has four goals and three assists so far this season for Galatasaray.
