Britt Assombalonga opens 2018-19 account in Middlesbrough’s win

Britt Assombalonga scored the winner as Middlesbrough defeated Birmingham City 1-0 in their English Championship clash.

Having enduring a dry patch in Boro's first two opening clashes against Millwall and Sheffield United, the bulky forward hit the back of the net after 12 minute at the Riverside Stadium.

The goal was all that was needed to help Tony Pulis’ side sit atop the Championship log as they now have seven points from three games.

Assombalonga played for the entire duration of the tie and will look to stretch his form when the Smoggies lock horns with Notts County in Tuesday's League Cup tie.
