Bright Edomwonyi was on target as Rizespor defeated Gaziantepspor 2-0 in aTurkish Super Lig game at the Yeni Rize Sehir Stadium on Saturday.

Edomwonyi's goal plus Leonard Kweuke's strike ensured Hazan Ozer's side eased their relegation troubles against their relegated visitors in the tie that featured compatriots - Godfrey Oboabona and Nosa Igiebor.

The 22-year-old got the lead for Rizespor in the 26th minute before Kweuke made it 2-0 in the 81th minute to secure their eighth win of the season.

It was the Nigerian's second goal in 14 appearances this season for Hikmet Karaman's men after he netted his first in his side 6-0 triumph over Bursaspor on May 7.

With the victory, Rizespor have 30 points from 32 games in 16th place on the log but remains five adrift safety and need wins over Osmanlıspor and Alanyaspor to stay up.
