Ingwe have cut ties with Prof. Francis Inganji, who has been their patron since September 2016

AFC Leopards have parted ways with their patron Professor Francis Inganji.

This decision has been made by the club’s National Executive Committee and availed on their official social media pages. 

Inganji was appointed in September 2016 to succeed Cyrus Jirongo with a hefty promise to Ingwe fraternity.

During his installation, which happened in a colourful ceremony, he pledged to give the club Sh5million in 2017, and work on a Sh700 million sponsorship deal in the next five years.

He is what he told Goal on that day, "AFC Leopards is a big brand, and we should take it to another level. It is not about politics each and every day, and it is high time we helped the team realize it's potential. We need to develop both on the pitch and be financially stable, and probably find something to sustain us."

It will be fascinating to see who replaces him at the Den.
